Everything you need to know about planning, booking, and experiencing Painterly.

FAQs

BOOKING + LOGISTICS

How do we secure an event date on the Painterly calendar?

To officially reserve your requested date and time slot, we require a completed Class Events Agreement and a 50% non-refundable deposit. Because our regional teams manage tight schedules across multiple states, we cannot hold calendar dates without a processed deposit.

When is the final balance due?

The remaining 50% balance must be remitted in full no later than fourteen (14) days prior to your scheduled event. For last-minute activations booked within 14 days of the execution date, 100% of the event fee is due immediately upon booking approval.

What are your class size minimums?

Our standard private bookings require a minimum baseline of ten (10) paid canvases ($1,200 baseline fee). For specialized regional travel or custom Nationwide or Global activations, higher territory-specific minimum profiles and travel fees may apply based on logistics.

Can we adjust our guest count after booking?

Yes. Your final guest tally must be locked in writing no later than 14 days prior to your event. Headcount increases can be accommodated up to seven (7) days before the activation date (subject to physical inventory and regional staff availability). However, final billings cannot be reduced below your original contract baseline or our 10-student minimum under any circumstances.

What payment methods do you accept?

All standard retail and private client billing is processed securely via online digital invoices. For our enterprise partners, corporate billing accounts and traditional vendor enrollment are available upon request, subject to formal credit underwriting by Painterly Corporate at the time of booking. We operate a strictly cashless environment.

CANCELLATION + RESCHEDULING

What is your cancellation policy?

Because our experiences require dedicated artist scheduling, custom material procurement, and regional travel logistics, the initial 50% deposit is strictly non-refundable. If an event is cancelled within 14 days of the execution date (after the final balance has been settled), all processed fees are forfeited as liquidated damages.

Can we reschedule our event if corporate or personal plans change?

Hosts may request a one-time calendar postponement by contacting us at events@painterly.co at least seven (7) full days prior to the event. Approved transfers are subject to a $150 administrative rescheduling fee, and the new date must fall within six months of the original block, subject to calendar availability. Any request to reschedule within 72 hours of the event will result in the immediate forfeiture of all fees.

THE STUDIO EXPERIENCE

Do guests need prior artistic talent or experience?

Absolutely not. Our masterclasses are meticulously designed to uncover the artist living within everyone. We replace intimidating gatekeeping and rigid paint-by-numbers setups with a highly supportive, history-grounded framework that focuses on student autonomy, creative confidence, and fine art fundamentals.

What does Painterly provide for the event?

We deliver a complete, white-glove, mobile studio activation. We supply fine-art grade easels, professional paints, fine-art brushes, palette knives, custom artist aprons, premium 12x16 gallery-wrapped canvases, environmental cleaning suites, curated tablescape aesthetics, and a Bluetooth audio setup tailored to the art movement being studied.

What is the venue responsible for providing?

The Host or Venue must provide food + beverages (if preferred) and stable tables and sturdy, tip-resistant seating with sufficient surface area for each guest's studio setup. Additionally, we require nearby access to clean, running water, proximity to commercial waste receptacles, and a utility sink suitable for rinsing non-toxic materials.

How much time do you need for setup and breakdown?

Our team requires uninterrupted access to the event footprint exactly two (2) hours prior to your guest arrival or mingle block. Meticulous studio breakdown begins immediately after instruction ends and is typically completed within 60-90 minutes. If an event runs over or requires an elongated breakdown sequence, an overtime fee of $100/hour applies to compensate our instructors.

What should guests wear?

While we provide high-density, heavy-duty protective canvas aprons, fine art can occasionally get messy. Because we utilize permanent, professional-grade heavy-body pigments, we strongly recommend comfort-focused, studio-appropriate attire that guests wouldn't mind getting dirty. Painterly is not financially liable for accidental staining on personal apparel or luxury fabrics.

FINE ART ADD-ONS + RETAIL

Can we upgrade our paintings with frames?

Yes. To complement our keepsake philosophy, we design and offer premium, solid wood floater frames in Satin Black, Unfinished Ash, Mahogany and Gallery White.

  • For Groups | To outfit your party with custom framing, orders must be finalized and paid four (4) weeks prior to your event to allow for regional mill batching. There are no minimum order constraints—hosts may select advance framing for the entire guest list or just a select few.

  • In-Class Availability | A limited retail selection of frames and original instructor-produced artwork (Painterly Originals) will be available for mobile POS purchase at the conclusion of class.

WEATHER INTERRUPTIONS

What happens if classes is interrupted by weather conditions?

In the case of unforseen and uncontrollable weather conditions, the hosts may request a one-time calendar postponement by contacting us at events@painterly.co prior to the event. Painterly may also reach out to the host directly to reschedule in the event of severe weather.
