Color Me Curious

Art Foundations | Explorations in Use of Color

Life in full color.

OVERVIEW

This two-hour beginner’s workshop provides a vibrant, accessible introduction to color and emotional impact, focusing on developing an intentional color palette to build visual interest.

In class, we'll explore how artists use color theory—even in its simplest form—to convey feeling, mood, and atmosphere, rather than just representing reality. Students will learn basic distinctions between warm colors (associated with energy, joy, and passion) and cool colors (associated with calm, melancholy, or distance). We'll cover simple mixing and matching strategies (like using analogous or complementary colors) to ensure palettes are dynamic and cohesive, resulting in an abstract or still life piece that intentionally uses color to tell an expressive story.

Painterly Original works will be provided to fuel the creative process and stoke the imagination. No experience or artistic skill required!

PRICING

All classes are $100 per canvas with a ten (10) student class minimum.

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to counteract the age of disposable experiences by teaching genuine creative skills. Painterly’s framework promotes the creation of keepsake artwork that carries lasting personal value, rather than becoming clutter. In a world where art is often mass-produced or prohibitively expensive, we offer an affordable and intentional pathway for our students to create their own meaningful, display-worthy creations rooted in solid artistic foundations.
